Toyota Says Combustion & Manuals Are Here to Stay

Toyota is keeping performance cars alive! Alongside the GR Yaris, GR Corolla, 86, and Supra, Gazoo Racing is teasing the return of iconic models. A new Celica is confirmed, and an MR2 might be in the works.

Toyota Australia’s VP reassures enthusiasts that “combustion engines and manual transmissions will be around for a long, long time,” even as electrification grows. GR is also exploring synthetic fuels and electric sports cars, as seen in the FT-Se concept.
